The information hotline on social and labour issues will be rolled out to the district level in 2016, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection informed a BELTA correspondent.
The information hotline (single number - 309-9-309) started operating in test mode in September 2014, and on a permanent basis in January 2015. The essence of this innovation in working with the public is that anyone can contact the hotline with a question or problem on weekdays from 9:00 to 10:30. Operators will listen and connect callers with relevant specialists from the ministry or the committees for labour, employment and social protection of regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee. The objective set for 2016 is to organise this work at the district level as well, to enable call forwarding (if necessary) to the departments for labour, employment and social protection of city and district executive committees. This will make the system of working with the public even more open and accessible to people, the ministry believes.
Last year, over 10,000 citizens and legal entities contacted the information hotline on social and labour issues, and received qualified legal assistance.
Over the past five years, the bodies and organisations of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection system have processed over 74,000 appeals, and the ministry itself has processed over 21,000. Taking into account the suggestions and issues discussed with citizens, more than 20 normative legal acts have been adopted.
