The Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora under the President of the Republic of Belarus reminds that, in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences, specifically Part 1 of Article 15.35, the extraction of fish or other aquatic animals without a proper permit, or during prohibited times and seasons, or in prohibited areas, or with prohibited gear, or by prohibited methods, as well as an attempt at such extraction, entails a fine ranging from 20 to 50 base units.

However, such significant fines do not deter some citizens from attempting to illegally extract fish.
Nevertheless, a resident of the village of Bobrovo was extracting fish using nets in a drainage channel flowing into Lake Ostrovno in the Lepel district. He was detained by the inspectorate's officers, and an administrative protocol was drawn up under Part 1 of Article 15.35 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus. The fishing net and two pike were confiscated from the citizen. By a ruling of the Lepel District Court, the citizen was fined 20 base units, amounting to 4,200,000 Belarusian rubles.
A resident of Lepel was extracting fish with a spear gun in an unnamed river flowing into Lake Okono in the Lepel district. He was detained by the inspectorate's officers. The spear gun and 15 pike were confiscated from the citizen. The damage caused to the environment amounted to 28,350,000 Belarusian rubles. The materials concerning this citizen have been sent to the Lepel District Department of Internal Affairs to decide on the initiation of criminal proceedings against him under Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
A resident of Lepel attempted to extract fish using fishing nets on Lake Prosha. However, he was detained by the inspectorate's officers, and an administrative protocol was drawn up against him under Part 1 of Article 15.35 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus. Fishing nets were confiscated from the citizen. By a ruling of the Lepel District Court, the citizen was fined 20 base units, amounting to 4,200,000 Belarusian rubles.
