During the preliminary and judicial investigation, it was established that a resident of Lepel district, born in 1989, who was charged in another criminal case, between 18:00 and 21:00 on 21.02.2020, while intoxicated, being in the victim's house and drinking alcoholic beverages with him and other persons, with the intent of deliberate, gratuitous, unlawful appropriation of another's property, for mercenary motives, intentionally, by means of robbery, openly snatched money from the victim's right hand, stole 55 rubles, and then fled the scene of the crime, spending the stolen money on the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
Previously, the accused had committed property theft, but the method was clandestine. Both crimes were committed by him while intoxicated. However, it should not be forgotten that one of the conditions that contributed to the commission of this crime was the victim's own victim behaviour, who, while intoxicated, let strangers into his house for joint drinking of alcohol.
The court of Lepel district found the resident of Lepel district guilty of open theft of property. Taking into account the personality of the accused, his persistent unwillingness to lead a law-abiding life, he was finally sentenced to 3 months of arrest.
