The Lepel District Court has considered a criminal case against a resident of the village of Stary Lepel, Lepel District, and a resident of Minsk, who committed a crime under Part 4 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. The defendants, previously not convicted, while intoxicated, in May 2018, as part of a group of persons by prior conspiracy, having pre-distributed the roles and responsibilities of each group member, with the intent to illegally extract fish in especially large quantities, without proper permission, during the fishing ban, in the dark, using a small vessel, during the catch, illegally extracted fish for a total amount of 17,801 rubles 70 kopecks, causing damage to the environment in especially large quantities.

Thus, a native resident of the village of Stary Lepel and a resident of Minsk, in May 2018, while intoxicated, during the prohibited time, in the dark, without proper permission, during the fishing ban, using 5 fishing nets, on a boat, using a homemade device for extracting fishing nets from the water, removed these 5 nets, put them in the boat and sailed to the shore, where they were detained by employees of the Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora.

Both during the preliminary investigation and during the judicial investigation, the resident of the village of Stary Lepel and the resident of Minsk fully admitted their guilt and sincerely repented.
