Information on the state of industrial injuries in organisations of the Vitebsk region and the implementation of supervisory activities on labour protection based on the results of January-December 2023

According to operational data from the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Department of State Labour Inspectorate (hereinafter referred to as the Department), in organisations of the Vitebsk region over 12 months of 2023, a decrease in the total number of industrial accidents is noted, from 220 cases to 205, compared to the same period in 2022 (a decrease of 6.8%). During this reporting period, 13 workers died as a result of industrial accidents in organisations of the Vitebsk region (14 in the same period of 2022), which indicates a decrease of 1 case (a decrease of 7.1%).

During the specified period, a decrease in fatal road traffic accidents in organisations of the Vitebsk region was registered compared to 2022, from 4 to 1.

An increase in fatal industrial injuries was noted in organisations of the Lepel district - 1 case (0 in 2022), Vitebsk district - 2 cases (0), Postavy district - 2 (1), as well as in organisations of Novopolotsk city - 1 (0) and Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk city - 3 (2).

An increase in accidents leading to severe industrial injuries in 2023 compared to the same period in 2022 was noted in organisations located in the following districts: Zheleznodorozhny district of Vitebsk city - 6 (4); Tolochin district - 4 (0); Senno district - 4 (2); Polotsk district - 4 (3); Verkhnedvinsk district - 3 (1); Lepel district - 2 (1); Braslav district - 1 (0); Chashniki district - 1 (0); Ushachi district - 1 (0); Rossony district - 1 (0).

An increase in industrial injuries not classified as severe compared to the same period in 2022 is noted in organisations of the following districts (territorial units): Oktyabrsky district - 16 cases (2022 - 6); Zheleznodorozhny district - 10 cases (6) and respectively Vitebsk city - 32 (21); Novopolotsk city - 13 (12); Tolochin district - 7 (3); Glubokoye district - 6 (3); Gorodok district - 6 (3); Liozno district - 4 (2); Shumilino district - 5 (3); Dubrovno district - 4 (3); Senno district - 2 (1); Beshenkovichi district - 1 (0).

In organisations without departmental subordination, a decrease in fatal injuries was noted in 2023 compared to 2022 (from 4 to 3).
