The Vitebsk Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection has prepared a draft decision of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies "On the Approval of the Scheme for the Rational Placement of Specially Protected Natural Areas of Local Significance of the Vitebsk Region for 2024–2033". This draft decision has been prepared in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Belarus of November 15, 2018, No. 150-Z "On Specially Protected Natural Areas" (hereinafter referred to as the Law).
The Vitebsk Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection has prepared a draft decision of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies "On the Approval of the Scheme for the Rational Placement of Specially Protected Natural Areas of Local Significance of the Vitebsk Region for 2024–2033". This draft decision has been prepared in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Belarus of November 15, 2018, No. 150-Z "On Specially Protected Natural Areas" (hereinafter referred to as the Law).
The purpose of adopting this decision is to optimise the network of specially protected natural areas. The Scheme for the Rational Placement of Specially Protected Natural Areas of Local Significance of the Vitebsk Region for 2024–2033 plans to declare 6 sanctuaries and 16 natural monuments of local significance, and to cease the functioning and transformation of specially protected natural areas of the region.
Article 11 of the Law establishes that individuals and legal entities have the right to participate in public discussions of draft environmentally significant decisions, including draft regional schemes for the rational placement of specially protected natural areas of local significance.
