This viewpoint was expressed in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent by the Prosecutor General of Belarus, Alexander Konyuk. "The law does not allow for paid assistance solely on the grounds that a person was injured while intoxicated. I believe that in this case, a clear mechanism needs to be prescribed, otherwise the effect may be the opposite. After all, how many instances of doctors abusing their position have there been. This is a slippery slope," the Prosecutor General warned. In his opinion, such measures should be applied to people with a tendency to abuse alcohol, not to law-abiding citizens.
