Foreign citizens will be able to enter Belarus visa-free from early July with a ticket to the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" international arts festival. This was announced today at a briefing by the festival director, Gleb Lapitsky, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
Gleb Lapitsky stated that a decree from the head of state was issued recently, designating the festival as a cultural event for which visa-free entry to Belarus will be open from July 1 to July 20 at all border crossing points. "A ticket to the 'Slavianski Bazaar' will serve as a substitute for a visa. This procedure is not new for the country; we have experience hosting major sporting events," noted the festival director. "We have specifically created a time buffer (this year the forum will take place from July 8 to July 17. - BELTA's note) to allow people to arrive and settle in comfortably. We primarily anticipate interest from residents of neighbouring countries."
In the near future, information on how to correctly purchase a ticket, register, and complete the necessary steps to avoid problems at the border will be available on all official online platforms of the creative forum. Additionally, this year, for the first time, citizens of Latvia and Kazakhstan have the opportunity to purchase tickets for "Slavianski Bazaar" events through their national online ticket operators.
The "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival will be held this year from July 8 to July 17. The grand opening ceremony and gala concert will take place in the Summer Amphitheatre on July 11, and the closing ceremony on July 15. Additional events are scheduled for July 8-10 and July 16-17.
