2 March, Minsk /Lyudmila Sats - BELTA/. Integration within the Union State must be filled with concrete economic projects. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich today at a meeting with the State Secretary of the Union State Pavel Borodin, BELTA correspondent reports.
"There are very important events ahead: on March 15, the next meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State will be held in Minsk," said Mikhail Myasnikovich.
"We attach great importance to this event, and I was pleased that the Russian side is also actively preparing for it," added the Prime Minister of Belarus.
He also informed that in addition to the planned agenda, there is a package of documents, the signing of which is timed to coincide with the meeting of the Union Council of Ministers. These include intergovernmental agreements concerning the construction of a nuclear power plant, documents related to the use of outer space for peaceful purposes, as well as documents on research in Antarctica. The signing of a number of agreements at the level of ministries and departments is also planned.
"Many issues are to be discussed. But the main thing is to fill cooperation with concrete economic projects. Not just to assure once again that union relations are important and necessary. It must be the economy. If the economy works, then everything else will be fine," believes Mikhail Myasnikovich.
Today, at a meeting with Pavel Borodin, the Prime Minister of Belarus also proposed to discuss the issue of harmonizing integration within the Union State and the Customs Union. "We believe that we have moved somewhat further in the Russian-Belarusian direction, and we think that everything related to the Customs Union should be involved in this process," emphasized Mikhail Myasnikovich. -0-
