This was announced today to journalists during a direct telephone line with residents of Ushachy District by the Minister of Information of Belarus Oleg Proleskovsky, BELTA correspondent reports. "This is an independent channel that will broadcast on the Internet," the minister explained. In his opinion, there will be no technical problems in creating the new channel. "It is a shame for Belarusians not to be involved in IT technologies, as we have serious programmers whose services are in demand far beyond the country's borders. We have our own High-Tech Park, which is successfully operating," he added. Oleg Proleskovsky has no doubt that internet television will have viewers. A significant portion of Belarusians, according to sociological research, are active internet users. At the same time, the minister noted that on the Internet, just like on real television, viewers prefer entertainment, music, and news programs. -0-
