On October 6, Minsk /BELTA/. A Memorandum of Cooperation regarding the construction of a pulp and paper mill in Belarus has been concluded between Belarus and Oman. It is part of a package of documents, the texts of which were exchanged by both sides in the presence of the leaders of the two countries, Alexander Lukashenko and Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, following the negotiations at the Palace of Independence, BELTA correspondent reports.
It is envisaged that the total investment volume for this project will be around $1.4 billion. The enterprise's capacity is expected to be around 800 thousand tons of products per year.
During the negotiations, Alexander Lukashenko stated that Omani investments in the woodworking sector would help to more effectively utilize Belarus's natural resources.
