This was announced today at the opening of the southwestern bypass around Vitebsk by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, BELTA correspondent reports. "We will be developing Vitebsk's roads very seriously. The city's road network development program includes the creation of several transport interchanges, and the improvement of roads in the outskirts, primarily in Markovshchina. Good asphalt concrete roads will be laid there, and tram tracks will be repaired," Alexander Kosinets emphasized, noting that this district is planned to be completed within a year. Regarding transport interchanges, the governor said that one of them includes an exit from P. Brovki Street to Tereshkova Street, which will cross Frunze Avenue and then lead to Gagarin Street. It has been decided not to dismantle the tram tracks along Gagarin Street, but to widen the highway, making it a six-lane road with an exit to Gorovtsa and Chekhov streets. The next direction is Builders Avenue. It will pass through garages, lead to Bilevo, and then to the Voronovskoye Ring. Another direction is Vitebsk-Tullovo. A road with asphalt concrete pavement from Tullovo to the Voronovskoye Ring is planned to be built within two years. "Thus, we cover almost all directions leading to the regional center. The construction of these roads will significantly relieve traffic in Vitebsk," stated the chairman of the regional executive committee, emphasizing that the resources for the implementation of this program are planned and allocated. These works are planned to be completed within 2013-2014. Alexander Kosinets also drew attention to the emergence of traffic jams in the regional center and the need, in this regard, to organize vertical parking lots in courtyards.
