Aleksandr Subbotin, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, visited several enterprises in Polotsk District to familiarize himself with their production facilities and development prospects. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
The head of the region visited a Polotsk enterprise specializing in the production of protective helmets, including those for motorcycles and horse riding, body armour, shields, guards, etc. The company also manufactures import-substituting products. It is a resident of the "Vitebsk" free economic zone. Currently, an investment project is being implemented here to modernise production of industrial and special-purpose products, with a cost of Br1.6 million. The enterprise is undergoing redesign and construction of a finished goods warehouse; electrical installation work has been completed, external lighting has been installed, etc. The project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of this year.
The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee was shown how another enterprise produces sensors and electronic digital devices designed for measuring temperature, pressure, etc. The company has its own design bureau and an accredited laboratory responsible for warranty and post-warranty service of these devices. Over 90% of the enterprise's exported products go to Russia, with the remainder sold in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Estonia. In 2022, Polotsk manufacturers also entered the market of Uzbekistan. As part of production cooperation, the enterprise supplies its sensors to the Minsk Automobile Plant.
At the metal structures production plant, Aleksandr Subbotin was informed about the work on an innovative project to implement technology for the production of metal structures with multi-system integration of processes. Over Br2.2 million was allocated from the region's innovation fund for this project. As a result, approximately 30 new jobs will be created, and if the plant operates in two shifts, more than 45 people will work on the new line.
Following the visit, the head of the region noted that in different regions, industrialists provide from 40% to 60% of tax revenues to the budget, and their products are the pride of the entire region and country. "These are good enterprises, and they need to be known at least so that we can talk about their products somewhere in our country or abroad and offer them, seeking new contracts," said Aleksandr Subbotin.
