The investment programme for Vitebsk for 2017 has been approved with a funding volume exceeding Br26.3 million. This information is contained in the decision of the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies dated December 28, 2016, No. 178, published on the National Legal Internet Portal, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

Approximately Br26 million 306 thousand of the city budget funds are allocated for the construction, reconstruction, design, and modernisation of communal property objects. Of these, over Br16 million are planned to be directed to communal services. Among other sectors, the main investment objects include the construction of the Palace of Ceremonial Rites in Vitebsk, a polyclinic in the YUG-7 microdistrict, a kindergarten and a school in the Bilevo-2 microdistrict, the construction and reconstruction of the zoological park, and the reconstruction of the "Vitebsk" concert hall, among others.

The programme has been developed with the aim of rational utilisation of the Vitebsk city budget funds allocated for capital investments. The main objectives of the document are the effective use of city budget funds for capital construction needs, the concentration of budget funds on facilities commissioned in 2017, as well as on facilities with a high degree of readiness.

Control over the implementation of this decision is assigned to the standing commission of the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies for urban economy, management of communal property, transport and communications. The decision enters into force upon its official publication.
