Results of the Lepel District Prosecutor's Office's work with citizens' and legal entities' appeals and supervision over the enforcement of legislation on citizens' and legal entities' appeals in the Republic of Belarus

One of the priority areas of activity for the Lepel District Prosecutor's Office is handling citizens' and legal entities' applications and complaints.

In 2021, the District Prosecutor's Office received 67 applications and complaints from citizens (2020 – 98). Of these, 27 (46) were resolved by prosecutor's office staff, 37 (41) were forwarded to other departments; 3 (9) were left without consideration; 0 (2) were returned; 0 (0) were withdrawn.

These included applications concerning: administrative liability – 1, anti-corruption – 1, compliance with housing legislation – 1, organisation of work with citizens' applications – 1, compliance with legislation on minors and youth – 1.

Regarding supervision during pre-trial proceedings, the District Prosecutor's Office received 17 applications from citizens, concerning operational-search activities – 1, and concerning compliance with the law of court decisions in civil cases – 5.

Out of the total number of applications received, 10 applications from citizens were fully satisfied, and 5 were partially satisfied.

In 2021, the District Prosecutor's Office also received 38 applications from business entities (2020 – 37), of which 36 (35) were resolved, 2 (1) were forwarded to other departments, and 0 (1) were left without consideration.

The main category of applications from legal entities are those seeking assistance in filing lawsuits in courts on behalf of state-owned enterprises and institutions (33).

Additionally, 2 applications from legal entities contained complaints about decisions of inquiry bodies, filed twice.

Out of the total number of applications received from legal entities, 34 were fully satisfied.

An analysis of statistical data shows that in 2021, the number of resolved applications from citizens decreased from 46 to 27.

The number of applications concerning supervision during pre-trial proceedings decreased from 23 to 17.

In total, based on the results of considering citizens' applications, 13 acts of prosecutorial supervision were issued by the District Prosecutor's Office (2020 – 15).

In 2021, the District Prosecutor's Office conducted 1 generalised inspection (2020 – 1) of compliance with legislation on citizens' and legal entities' applications at KUPP

«Borovka», State Institution «Territorial Center for Social Services of the Population of Lepel District», Department of Education of the Lepel District Executive Committee. Based on the results of the inspection, 1 representation was made (2020-1). The representation was considered, and 2 people were brought to disciplinary liability for the violations committed.

The work of the district prosecutor's office in this direction will be continued in the current year.
