On April 13, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on encouraging gifted youth. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
Over Br1.5 million will be allocated from the Head of State's reserve fund to the special fund of the President for the social support of gifted youth. The funds will be used to encourage pupils and students, the individuals who prepared them, as well as to provide material support to intellectual and creative associations of students.
In addition, the decree approves the decision of the fund's council to award 152 scholarships of the President of Belarus to students and cadets of higher education institutions for outstanding academic, research, and creative achievements.
The adoption of the decree is aimed at identifying and supporting the most motivated and gifted students, creating favourable conditions for the further development of their abilities and successful studies.
