President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has signed a decree on awarding gifted youth. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Head of State.


According to the decree, in 2022, almost Br1.7 million will be allocated from the republican budget to the special fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the social support of gifted pupils and students, using funds from the reserve fund of the Head of State. 

The decree approves two decisions of the council of the special fund, according to which over Br450 thousand will be directed to award 740 gifted pupils and students who are winners of international and republican Olympiads, competitions, and other events. 

Financial support will be provided to 5 intellectual and creative associations of pupils and students. 

99 pedagogical and scientific workers have also been recognised with incentive prizes for their special achievements in the education and upbringing of youth. 

The adoption of the decision demonstrates the state's priority attention to the issues of identifying and developing gifted pupils and students.
