This opinion was expressed in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent by the Deputy Chairman of the Tula Oblast Duma, CIS observer Sergey Kondratenko. Explaining the reasons for the negative assessments that the mission of observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) regularly gives to elections in Russia and Belarus, the politician believes that this is due to both subjective reasons and the fact that the electoral systems in both Belarus and Russia are more open than in some Western European states. "The negativity that is poured onto Belarus is unjustified. Many Western states should learn from it how to conduct election campaigns," he is confident. At the same time, Sergey Kondratenko is confident that the presence of observers from various structures at elections helps the development of the electoral system. "We have nothing to hide. People vote with an open heart, and let everyone see it," he added.-0-
