13 July, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. A publishing project about the laureates of the Union State Prize in Literature and Art will be implemented in the Year of Books in Belarus. This was announced today at a creative meeting with Georgy Poplavsky, the recipient of this high award for 2011-2012, by Lilia Ananich, First Deputy Minister of Information of Belarus, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. According to her, the proposal to prepare a book about our contemporaries – laureates of the prize – in the Year of Books was born today and found support from the Standing Committee of the Union State. "This award has been presented for ten years. During this time, many renowned creators, both Belarusians and Russians, have become its laureates. These are people who, through their creative work, strengthen Belarus and Russia, the brotherhood of our peoples," said Lilia Ananich. She emphasized that all the necessary information for the project's implementation is available, as is the demand for this project and the need to educate younger generations through examples of high creativity and dedicated service to the people. "We must showcase such people, such personalities as much as possible. After all, when asked who is a hero of our time today, these are recognized heroes in art and literature. Today we honour them and would like the friendship between Belarus and Russia to continue to be strengthened by their high creativity and spiritual achievement," wished the First Deputy Minister of Information. Speaking about the recognized masters of art of the last century, Lilia Ananich noted that great things are seen from a distance. "It is important that even now, in the present time, this greatness is seen and duly appreciated. In Belarus, for example, there is the "For Spiritual Revival" prize, which is awarded by the Head of State," concluded the First Deputy Minister.
