On July 8, Vitebsk / BelTA correspondent. The Israeli Cultural Centre at the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Republic of Belarus, as part of the celebrations dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Marc Chagall's birth in Vitebsk, is presenting the exhibition "On the Trail of Chagall in Israel" today at the Yanka Kupala National Academic Drama Theatre, the Culture Department of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee informed a BelTA correspondent.
This travelling exhibition has been prepared by the Association of Professional Artists of Israel and is part of a comprehensive project "On the Trail of Chagall in Israel," the overall concept of which is a dialogue between contemporary Israeli artists and the Master. The exhibition features 30 works by contemporary Israeli artists from various art schools and movements. Each exhibition participant conveys their perception of Chagall's spiritual heritage and their view of the present through the prism of time. This is a tribute from the current generation to the one who forever captured Israeli landscapes in his illustrations for the Bible. Among the exhibition participants is Ilya Khinich, a native of Vitebsk.
The exhibition will open on July 8 and run until July 18.
Today, the celebrations in Vitebsk will continue on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Marc Chagall's birth. -0-
