Japanese volunteers to hold clown therapy masterclasses in Vitebsk

4 September, Vitebsk /Alena Tikhonova - BELTA/. On 6 September, Japanese volunteers will conduct clown therapy masterclasses at the Vitebsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital and the Velikolyetchanskoye Children's Home, the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society (BRCS) informed a BELTA correspondent.

A group of Japanese volunteers will arrive in Vitebsk on 5 September. On this day, a meeting and experience exchange with volunteers of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the BRCS will be held. In particular, a round table is planned with the participation of members of the "Doctor Nebolit" initiative group, which has been working with the clown therapy method for several years.

6 September will be a day of practical experience exchange. Japanese guests will visit the Vitebsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital and the Velikolyetchanskoye Children's Home, where they will conduct two-hour clown therapy sessions for patients and pupils of these institutions. Volunteers of the regional BRCS organization will also be interested spectators of the performances.

As noted by the BRCS, this is the second visit of Japanese volunteers to Vitebsk. The first took place in September last year. "The idea to establish cooperation with Japanese volunteers arose several years ago, and two and a half years ago, the 'Doctor Nebolit' initiative group was created in Vitebsk. Its members are active young people who work with the clown therapy method, giving performances for children in hospitals and social institutions," the regional BRCS organization explained.

Vitebsk volunteers have undergone training at special training sessions and seminars, and possess skills in acting, juggling, performing magic tricks, animation, and plasticity. Meetings with Japanese colleagues contribute to improving the professional level of the "Doctor Nebolit" group participants.-0-
