Last week, employees of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) conducted large-scale preventive work in the rural settlement of Stai, Lepel District. Alongside raid activities in the residential sector and a speech by the MES management at a village meeting, representatives of the Center for Life Safety and Public Interaction organized a "Safety Fair" at the local school.
The event, timed to coincide with the republican campaign "With Care for the Safety of the Small Motherland," brought together representatives of different generations – schoolchildren, working youth, and pensioners. Three teams had to undergo various challenges aimed at training in first aid, crowd behavior, evacuation from a smoke-filled room, calling emergency services, ensuring safe living conditions, and so on. During the unique quest, MES employees also offered several entertainment contests. For example, fire bowling or donning firefighting gear.
After successfully completing all the challenges, participants of all ages shared positive emotions with the organizers of the "Safety Fair," noting how useful such an interactive training event was for them. Representatives of the gas service also joined the rescuers, familiarizing attendees with their work equipment and emphasizing the importance of observing specific safety rules at home.
While cultural workers presented creative performances to the audience, rescuers summarized the results of the quest. The winner and prize-winners were awarded by Gennady Glinsky, Deputy Head of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations. The local children, who enthusiastically cheered for the participants of the "Safety Fair" throughout the event, also received gifts. Rescuers handed out colorful educational materials for children to each child.
