According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission, 77.05% of voters cast their ballots in Belarus. In the Brest region, turnout was 79.16%, in Vitebsk - 84.49%, in Gomel - 80.76%, in Grodno - 79.81%, in Minsk region - 77.97%, in Mogilev - 82.26%, and in Minsk city - 61.41%.
"Voters supported the elections," emphasized Lidiya Yarmoshyna.
5,870 polling stations were established for voting in the local elections; they closed at 8:00 PM.
22.2 thousand people were registered as candidates for deputies. They contended for a total of just over 18,000 mandates.
