The chess princesses of our town (Princess Taisiya and Princess Sofia) have been giving a masterclass in classical chess to all interested Lepel residents for the fourth year running on our town's birthday. Chess is an endless exercise for the mind, developing lifelong mental skills such as: concentration, critical thinking, abstract thinking, problem-solving, pattern recognition, strategic planning, creativity, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation... And the girls have been learning all this for several years at the Lepel District Center for Children and Youth in the "Chess" club (coach Radko V.N.).
