Young residents of Orsha District who have reached the age of 14 will be solemnly presented with passports of citizens of Belarus on one of the days of the republican "Golden Puck" ice hockey competitions for children and teenagers, the Orsha District Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.

The traditional ice battles for the President of Belarus Prize, under the motto "Today a yard championship - tomorrow a world championship," have already taken place on March 9-12 in Minsk among children born in 2004-2005. Competitions for the senior group of Division A hockey players, i.e., those born in 2002-2003, will unfold at the Ice Arena in Orsha. The tournament games will be held from March 13-16, but one of the days will be particularly memorable for both athletes and spectators. Before the matches on March 15, Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus, the All-Belarusian patriotic campaign "We are Citizens of Belarus!" will take place with the presentation of passports to young citizens of the country.

"The main heroes of the ceremony will be 32 fourteen-year-old residents of Orsha District – excellent students, participants of scientific and practical conferences, winners and prize-winners of republican competitions, festivals, contests, subject Olympiads, including seven hockey players. The children will receive their first document from the hands of district leadership representatives, as well as a symbolic 'Orsha Resident's Passport' and a gift album 'I am a Citizen of the Republic of Belarus' about our homeland, its history, state system, nature, national traditions and development prospects, the main provisions of the Constitution with legal comments and explanations," said Sergey Gorbachev, Deputy Head of the Department of Education, Sports and Tourism of the District Executive Committee.

He added that the ceremony participants will become spectators of another hockey match of the republican competitions. In general, admission to the Ice Arena for all tournament games is free for both children and adults, in order to popularize this sport and an active lifestyle in general.

As noted by the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM), the events of the campaign "We are Citizens of Belarus!", initiated by the youth union, are taking place in all parts of the region from March 10 to 15. Passports of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus are presented to 14-year-old teenagers by heads of legislative and executive authorities, public figures, and other distinguished and authoritative people of the country.

The organizers of the "Golden Puck" are the Presidential Sports Club, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Ministry of Education, the BRSM, the Ice Hockey Federation of Belarus, and the "Golden Puck" children's and youth ice hockey club.
