– Rescue service. How can I help you?
– Someone is lost in the forest!
Recently, such calls have been increasingly received by the "112" line. Anyone can find themselves lost, but as practice shows, in most cases, it is adults and pensioners.
Rescuers remind: if you go into the forest, wear bright, comfortable, waterproof clothing and footwear; take a charged mobile phone (navigator, compass), drinking water, necessary medications, a small supply of food, matches, and a knife with you; do not go into the forest alone; inform your relatives where you plan to enter the forest and approximately when you will return; pay attention to the weather conditions; it is better to postpone your trip in cloudy weather.
And if you do get lost in the forest: stop and calm down; look for a clearing, a stream, power lines, and walk along them; listen for barking dogs, the sound of trains, or cars; leave traces behind you, such as notches on tree trunks or broken branches; call "101" or "112" and stay in place after reporting.
Talk to your loved ones (elderly parents) once again about the need to observe safety rules when going into the forest.
