The Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora informs that, in accordance with the Rules of Amateur Fishing, fishing is prohibited:
with prohibited gear and methods;
with the use of double and treble hooks on fishing gear without a spoon, natural or artificial bait;
from vessels during nighttime;
with the use of screen-type nets at a distance of less than 50 meters from the mouths and sources of rivers, streams, canals and effluents, as well as dams, locks, bridges, pumping stations;
with the use of floats, setlines, stakes, floats, and other similar systems and tackle during nighttime;
at a distance of less than 50 meters from designated fishing gear;
from railway and other bridges, dams, at locks, pumping stations, other hydraulic structures, in respect of which restrictions and prohibitions on economic or other activities are established, and at a distance of less than 50 meters in both directions from the boundaries of the specified technical structures;
by driving, spearing methods;
In addition, it is prohibited:
fishing using spearguns and (or) spearfishing pistols from the shore (pier, jetty, etc.) or vessels;
catching fish that have not reached the commercial size;
being in fishing grounds or adjacent territories within one kilometre from the shoreline of fishing grounds by citizens with prohibited fishing gear and (or) fish, the catching of which is prohibited in the given area and at the given time, or the weight of which exceeds the norms established by the Rules of Amateur Fishing, without documents confirming the legality of possession of fish, or the movement (transportation) of such gear and (or) fish;
storage and sale of fishing nets, net materials;
manufacturing, acquisition, storage or sale of prohibited fishing gear;
seizure by individuals of commercial fishing gear found by them in fishing grounds, fishing gear prohibited for use in amateur fishing, and fish caught with such fishing gear;
washing of transport and other technical means within the boundaries of water protection zones of water bodies;
parking of motor vehicles within 30 metres horizontally from the shoreline of a water body.
Violation of the Rules entails administrative liability in the form of a fine of up to 10 base units. At the same time, for the extraction of fish or other aquatic animals without proper permission, or during prohibited times or periods, or in prohibited places, or with prohibited gear, or by prohibited methods, as well as an attempt at such extraction, administrative liability is provided in the form of a fine from 10 to 30 base units and compensation for damage caused to the environment. In case of damage amounting to 100 or more base units, criminal liability shall arise.
