With the onset of the autumn-winter period, the demand for special products necessary for car maintenance increases. The sanitary and epidemiological service, in order to prevent unsafe products from being put on the market, has organised a continuous assessment of windshield washer fluid offered to consumers.
During October-November of the current year, the sanitary and epidemiological service prohibited the sale of over 1000 litres of windshield washer fluid that did not comply with the established standards for methyl alcohol content. In December, in cooperation with the Customs Service of the Mogilev Region, it was possible to prevent the import of over 23 tonnes of "FrozKO -30" windshield washer fluid produced by Forward Group LLC, with a methyl alcohol content exceeding the norm by 440 times, into the country.
Work on controlling the sale of windshield washer fluid is also actively carried out in the Lepel district.
When choosing windshield washer fluid, one should not forget about their own health. Windshield washer fluid must be purchased at designated points of sale. Illegal manufacturers often use cheap and unsafe raw materials in the production of such products, including methyl alcohol, which is a potent poison, dangerous when inhaled, affects the brain and blood vessels, and can lead to blindness. Furthermore, it is important to remember that methyl alcohol is particularly poisonous to children. Therefore, when purchasing, attention should be paid to the information on the consumer packaging, presented on the label, which should contain details about the manufacturer, including their address, product name, intended use, composition, shelf life, and precautionary measures. By following these simple rules, the health risks will be minimal.
