Experienced cardiologists and neurologists will hold an open meeting with the public in Vitebsk on April 12, the organisers told BelTA.

The meeting in Vitebsk concludes a series of events that have already taken place in Minsk and other regional centres of the country. "This will be the final 'people's press conference' where everyone attending will be able to ask specialists questions, get full information on the causes of stroke, its diagnosis and prevention methods, receive medical advice and personal recommendations. A master class on blood pressure measurement will also be organised," the organisers explained.

The aim of the meeting is to reach a wide range of people and to explain in simple terms about stroke, modern methods of its prevention, signs of stroke and how to properly assist a person who has suffered from the disease.

The venue for the meeting is the assembly hall of Vitebsk State Medical University (27 Frunze Street). It starts at 13:00, admission is free.

The event is part of the social project "In One Dimension," aimed at combating strokes and heart attacks.

The organisers are Microlife, a manufacturer of blood pressure monitors, and the National Portal "Healthy People," with the support of the Ministry of Health.
