During the grand closing ceremony of the XXVI International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", the stage of the Summer Amphitheatre was adorned with paintings by Vitebsk artists, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

The concert's scenography allowed the full auditorium (as well as television viewers) to be introduced to the rich heritage of the Vitebsk art school. Dozens of LED screens displayed fragments of canvases by famous masters of the last century and our contemporaries.

The programme itself pleased with its diversity. At the very beginning of the concert, Valery Meladze warmed up the audience. And then, in an almost continuous stream, songs flowed, including premieres. For example, a member of the jury for the "Vitebsk-2017" pop song performers' competition, Honoured Artist of Serbia, Filip Zhmaher, unexpectedly presented the audience with a composition in Ukrainian. Perhaps in honour of this year's competition's first prize winner, Vlad Sytnik from Ukraine. The winner himself also earned the right to perform at the gala concert.

To the applause of the audience, "Pesniary", Ruslan Alekhno, the group "Uncle Vanya and Nephews", Irina Bilyk, Gleb Matveychuk, Egor Kreed, Tatyana Bulanova, Larisa Dolina, and others took to the stage of the Summer Amphitheatre. A magical moment occurred during Denis Maidanov's performance: as soon as he started singing about rain, the heavens seemed to hear him, and the spectators at the sides of the hall had to open their umbrellas. An unusual trio was formed by Denis Dudinsky, Ekaterina Raetskaya, and jury member Kevin McCoy.

Soso Pavliashvili, together with his wife, brought a whole carnival in feathers onto the stage. And Stas Mikhailov seemed not to have left the Summer Amphitheatre after his solo concert on July 16 – he was greeted just as thunderously. The artist decided to "try out" two new songs on the sensitive Vitebsk audience at once.

The festival has concluded, but additional events will take place today and on July 19.
