The poplar is a tree that grows quite quickly, acquiring a lush crown in a few years. However, the branches quickly become brittle, and the trunk becomes fragile. The tree becomes hazardous and dangerous. To avoid injuring people who might pass under the trees, a specialist from the state forestry institution "Lepel Leskhoz" was summoned. He inspected all the trees and concluded that 52 old poplars are hazardous and subject to removal. In the near future, we will cut them down and remove the timber and branches. New trees will be planted in place of the old ones. Preference will mainly be given to maples, lindens, and birches. Their significant advantage over poplars is that they do not produce fluff, which is an allergen for people.
A program for the gradual renewal and improvement of the central park has been adopted. In recent years, this recreational area has been neglected for a number of reasons, with the main work limited to mowing the grass and removing litter. Maintaining order is, of course, necessary, but progress and development are also needed. However difficult it may be, we must think about what the land will be like in ten, twenty years.
Take, for example, the former cafe. Yes, once it was a comfortable, popular, crowded place, a pleasant spot to visit and sit with friends. However, time has passed, and today it does not meet current sanitary standards. Bringing it into compliance would require significant funds. However, leaving it as a "monument" is also not an option. Therefore, the decision was made – the correct one, in my opinion – to demolish it. Which we, the utility workers, have done. In the near future, we will lay paths, sow a lawn, and plant trees – creating another picturesque corner of the park. And over time, perhaps, some small architectural forms and gazebos will be installed.
