23 May, Senno /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. The State Control Committee of Belarus will continue its work on optimising inspections. This was announced to journalists today by the Chairman of the SCC, Alexander Yakobson, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent. In the Address to the Belarusian people and parliament, the Head of State instructed the government, the Presidential Administration and the SCC to develop additional measures in the first half of the year to optimise control and inspection activities in the country. Over the past few years, the SCC has fundamentally changed its approach to inspection activities: it has become preventative in nature. The number of inspections is decreasing. The priority has become issues of economic security, and, in Alexander Yakobson's opinion, the department has made progress in this area. At the same time, the control system requires improvement, and the SCC will continue to work on it. "We need to move away from petty issues and deal with serious problems. We need to see problems at a distance, not just those that lie on the surface," said the Chairman of the SCC, characterising the current task for analysts and specialists involved in control activities. -0-
