6 April, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The Vitebsk Regional Committee of State Control notes the uninterrupted availability of potatoes and vegetable products from stabilisation funds in the region's retail network. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Regional Committee of State Control.
Overall, from 15 November 2011 to 1 April of the current year, 3.4 times more potatoes, 4.6 times more cabbage, 4.1 times more carrots, 3.8 times more beetroot, and 3.2 times more onions were sold from stabilisation funds across the region compared to the corresponding period of the previous season. "The available stocks allow for uninterrupted supply of crop production to the retail network until the end of the season," the committee noted, adding that as of 1 April, cabbage stocks exceeded last year's by 11 times, potatoes, beetroot and carrots by almost 4 times, and onions by 2.6 times.
Issues concerning the state of the consumer market and the availability of goods in the retail network are under constant control of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of State Control. In March of the current year, control and analytical measures were carried out in 27 retail outlets in Vitebsk, Rossony and Senno districts regarding this issue. The results indicate the availability of a sufficient range of food products for the stable operation of retail outlets and to meet consumer demand. However, there are instances of the absence of certain goods or an incomplete range due to the fault of retail workers. -0-
