On September 27, Minsk /Anna Kot - BELTA/. The current indexation coefficients for electricity and thermal energy tariffs have been changed in Belarus from September 1 of the current year. This is stipulated by the Resolution of the Ministry of Economy No. 151, the BELTA correspondent was informed by the Ministry's Public Relations Department.
The changes were made to ensure timely payment for energy resources imported into Belarus, the Ministry of Economy explained. In Belarus, prices (tariffs) for natural gas, electricity, and thermal energy are set in Belarusian rubles. The Republic imports natural gas from Russia. Contracts for the supply of natural gas are concluded by OJSC "Beltransgaz" with payment for the purchased gas in US dollars. To ensure payment, an order for the indexation of prices (tariffs) for energy resources has been established.
"The specified procedure allows gas and energy supply organizations to compensate for costs incurred in the sale of natural gas and in the production of energy, which depend on the change in the exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble against the US dollar," the ministry noted.
The components of the price (tariff) that depend on the change in the exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble against the US dollar (the indexed portion) include fuel costs and purchased energy, auxiliary materials, spare parts, and others not produced in the republic, etc. -0-
