The number of citizens' appeals regarding labour and social protection issues in the Vitebsk region is decreasing

On November 27, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. A steady decrease in the number of citizens' appeals on labour, employment and social protection issues is observed in the Vitebsk region. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Marina Koroleva, Head of the Department for Organisational and Personnel, Legal Matters and Work with the Public of the Committee for Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. According to her, over January-October, the Committee for Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Regional Executive Committee received over 600 written appeals, which is 21.3% less compared to the same period last year. The number of written appeals received by organisations within the committee's system decreased by more than 8% to 8.2 thousand. At the same time, their number significantly decreased in Braslav, Glubokskoye, Pervomaisky (Vitebsk) districts, Orsha, Novopolotsk, Vitebsk. Almost three times more oral appeals were considered in the past period (10.3 thousand). "This indicates, first and foremost, more effective work of employees with applicants. The decrease in public appeals to higher organisations by 26% also confirms this," noted Marina Koroleva.

Overall, over the ten-month period, the number of appeals across all areas of the committee's work has significantly decreased, including: 47.6% in labour protection and state expertise, 46% in population employment, 44% in stationary social institutions, 42% in social support for the population, and 8.1% in pension provision.

To ensure comprehensive and high-quality consideration of applicants' issues, specialists from the committee's system organisations regularly participate in training seminars and receive methodological and practical assistance. In addition, their knowledge levels are periodically assessed, and the results of work with citizens' appeals are taken into account during attestation. The committee also maintains systematic monitoring of on-site work with appeals from citizens and legal entities.

Thirteen hotlines operate on a permanent basis across all areas of the committee's activities. It is noteworthy that the majority of questions received through these hotlines are of a reference and advisory nature.

The practice of outreach sessions and meetings with work collectives is actively implemented, during which pressing issues of labor protection and conditions, social and labor relations, pension provision, employment, and social support are discussed. "Thanks to close cooperation with the media, the most relevant of these issues are periodically covered in the press," added Marina Koroleva. She emphasized that the implementation of the requirements of Directive No. 2 "On Measures to Further Debureaucratize the State Apparatus" is under constant control in the committee. -0-
