"Kolyadny Razgulyay" (Christmas Revelry) will be held on Old New Year's Day in Polotsk District, the Bogatyrsky Rural House of Culture informed a BELTA correspondent.
The Christmas celebration will gather about 100 representatives of Houses of Culture from all over the district, local residents and guests in the village of Bogatyrskaya on January 13. The Old New Year's celebration will begin with caroling around the homesteads of the settlement. Participation in subsequent humorous games and Christmas fortune-telling will bring a lot of emotions to everyone. For example, girls will determine which direction they will marry by throwing valenki (felt boots), and during "hugging" with the fence, they will find out if this significant event will happen this year.
Justifying the name of the village, strongman competitions among men promise to delight with vivid impressions. They will participate in sack fights on goats, walking on wooden blocks, arm wrestling, and kettlebell lifting. In the latter competition, enterprising bachelors will have a real chance to carry girls in their arms instead of kettlebells.
The sports block of the program also includes mixed competitions: a giant skipping rope, tug-of-war, broomball, in which brooms are used instead of sticks and a ball instead of a puck, and others.
Even more humor and fun await all guests of the holiday in the second part of the event, which will take place in the local House of Culture. A tea party, Christmas carols and dances, and a creative ring of representatives of the Houses of Culture are planned here, where the best Christmas star will be determined and a humorous defense of their Christmas bags will be held.
