A team of Belarusian scientists who have made scientific developments in the field of metallurgy has been awarded the interstate prize "Stars of the Commonwealth". This decision was made by the prize awarding council, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States.
The Belarusian scientific team includes Academician, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Apparatus of the National Academy of Sciences Petr Vityaz, under whose leadership more than 80 technologies for the industrial production of machine-building products have been developed. He is the author of over 850 scientific works, holds over 200 author's certificates and patents. The second member of the team is the Director General of the Institute of Powder Metallurgy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Alexander Ilyushchenko, who owns over a thousand scientific works and more than 170 author's certificates and patents. The third member of the team is the Director of the Institute of Welding and Protective Coatings, a structural unit of the Institute of Powder Metallurgy, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Mikhail Andreev.
Laureates from other CIS countries include People's Artist of Azerbaijan Rauf Abdullayev, People's Artist of Armenia Robert Elibekyan, Kazakh poet Esengali Raushanov, writer from Kyrgyzstan Mar Baidzhiev, People's Artist of Turkmenistan Atageldy Gariaǵdyýew, President of the Russian Research Centre "Kurchatov Institute" Mikhail Kovalchuk, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova Ion Ababii, and Chief Researcher of the Agency for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Ulmas Mirsaidov.
The solemn award ceremony for the laureates will take place on May 15 in the capital of Turkmenistan at the Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS Countries.
