The State Control Committee has commenced monitoring the development of agro-ecotourism

April 14, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. The Committee of State Control has launched a monitoring of the state of agroecotourism in Belarus, the press service of the CSC informed BELTA.

Representatives of the CSC are selectively visiting agroecotourism entities, studying all aspects related to the improvement of agroecotourism activities. The monitoring will help to form an understanding of how the requirements of Decree No. 372 of June 2, 2006 "On Measures for the Development of Agroecotourism in the Republic of Belarus" are being fulfilled locally. The purpose of the control and analytical measures is to determine the effectiveness of the measures taken to develop agroecotourism and to identify shortcomings in this area that need to be eliminated.

It should be noted that favorable conditions for the development of agroecotourism have been created in the country. This type of tourist activity is considered an economically viable and promising direction for the development of regions. The number of agro-estates and the services they provide is increasing year by year.

As of January 1, 2014, 1881 agroecotourism entities were registered with the tax authorities of the republic. Over the past year, the number of agro-estates has increased by 6%, and this growth was mainly provided by individuals engaged in agroecotourism.

Many agro-estates are popular with both Belarusians and foreign guests. According to statistics, citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, and Germany most often visit domestic agro-estates.

When studying the state of affairs in the field of agroecotourism, specialists of the Committee of State Control interact with representatives of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, local executive and administrative bodies, and specialists from centers of hygiene, epidemiology, and public health.
