In the Vitebsk region, it is planned to build 27 thousand sq. m of housing next year, where heating, hot water supply, and cooking will be powered by electricity. This was announced by the Chairman of the Committee for Architecture and Construction of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Shidlovsky.
After the commissioning of the Belarusian NPP, the construction of electric houses will increase, where the necessary engineering and transport infrastructure is already in place. Heating, hot water supply, cooking – everything will be provided by using electricity. In the Vitebsk region, by the end of this year, 11 thousand sq. m of such housing will be erected. "In 2021, we have already been assigned 27 thousand sq. m. We have an approved program with the Regional Executive Committee and the Ministry of Energy, where such houses will be built," said Alexander Shidlovsky.
For example, an electric house will be built in the agro-town of Tulovo, Vitebsk district, and in Beshenkovichi. A block of apartment buildings will appear on Maxim Gorky Street in Vitebsk: five apartment residential buildings will be constructed here. The Nikropolye microdistrict in the regional centre will be entirely powered by electricity.
In total, in 2021, it is planned to build over 330 thousand sq. m of housing in the region. This year, the development of the Cheremushki microdistrict began in Vitebsk, and it is intended to complete the construction of houses there in 2022. Individual construction will also be further developed in the future.
