Provided warm weather conditions are established and maintained, the sowing campaign in the Vitebsk region may commence on April 4-5.


However, in some districts of the region, winter cereal crops and perennial grasses have already begun to be top-dressed.
This year, the spring crop area will amount to 314 thousand hectares, including 135 thousand hectares of cereals and legumes, about 19 thousand hectares of cruciferous crops, 80 thousand hectares of maize, and 11 thousand hectares of flax.

The provision of mineral fertilizers in the region's farms is 31 percent, and nitrogen fertilizers – 36 percent, which is higher than in the same period last year. Tractor readiness is 87 percent, including 77 percent for high-power tractors. In total, 6141 tractors will be involved in the sowing campaign, including 1167 high-power tractors.
