In accordance with Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 24 of January 18, 2021, housing for 700 large families was to be built in the Vitebsk region last year. The task, as reported by Andrey Pshonko, Head of the Housing Policy and Investment Department of the Committee for Construction and Architecture of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, has not only been fulfilled but exceeded. 1,330 apartments with a total area of 90.7 thousand square meters have been built for 1,245 parents from large families and their children.

Currently, about 3,000 large families in the Vitebsk region eligible for improved housing conditions are on the waiting list for construction. In the current year, it is planned to erect multi-story buildings for them in all cities and district centers of the region and provide new housing for at least 634 families. Notably, one-third of the assigned task in the region has already been completed. This year, large families in Polotsk, Lepel, Miory, and Tolochin have celebrated housewarmings – multi-story buildings have been commissioned there. Another 5 families have built individual houses with state support. Last year, over 40 large families became owners of their own homesteads.
