Over the first 2 months of the current year, 27 workers in the Vitebsk region sustained workplace injuries. The overwhelming majority of these incidents are linked to the personal negligence of the workers themselves and their violation of labour and production discipline.

The International Social Security Association (ISSA) developed the Vision Zero Concept ("Zero Injury" Concept).

The "Zero Injury" Concept is based on the recognition that workplace accidents and occupational diseases are not inevitable – they always have causes. Consequently, the development of an effective prevention culture allows for their avoidance.

The objective of "Zero Injury" Week is to organise measures to ensure the safety and health of workers in the workplace, and to prevent workplace injuries (ensuring no injuries occur in organisations during this period) by promptly identifying violations of labour protection norms and implementing measures for their elimination.
