In accordance with Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 281 dated July 21, 2021, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and persons affected by the consequences of the war receive financial assistance annually on Victory Day.

In accordance with Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 281 dated July 21, 2021, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and persons affected by the consequences of the war receive financial assistance annually on Victory Day.

In 2022, financial assistance will be paid from April 25 to May 6 inclusive.

In the Vitebsk region, 2,590 people will receive this assistance, totalling 2.1 million rubles.

Concurrently with the receipt of financial assistance, solemn celebrations for veterans of the Great Patriotic War, including those residing in stationary social service institutions, will be held in all districts of the region, with the presentation of commemorative postcards, gifts, flowers, and souvenirs.


This year, financial assistance will be paid in the following amounts.

For veterans of the Great Patriotic War:

1800 rubles

  • For disabled persons and participants of the Great Patriotic War, and persons who took part in combat operations to defend the Fatherland before September 3, 1945.
  • For persons who took part in special formations in demining territories and facilities after liberation from German occupation in 1943–1945.

1000 rubles

  • For persons awarded orders or medals of the USSR for selfless work and impeccable military service in the rear during the Great Patriotic War.
  • For persons who worked at air defence facilities, local air defence, construction of defensive structures, naval bases, airfields, and other military facilities within the rear boundaries of active fronts, and on front-line sections of railways and roads.
  • For persons who worked at enterprises, institutions, and organisations in the city of Leningrad during the blockade from September 8, 1941, to January 27, 1944, and were awarded the medal "For the Defence of Leningrad", and persons awarded the badge "Resident of Blockaded Leningrad".

For persons affected by the consequences of the war:

750 rubles

    • to family members of military personnel, partisans and underground fighters who died (passed away), went missing during the Great Patriotic War (spouses who have not remarried; children with disabilities from childhood (including adopted children); other dependents)), who are entitled to a pension increase on the aforementioned grounds in accordance with the legislation
    • to former inmates of Nazi concentration camps, prisons, ghettos and other places of forced detention established by the Nazis and their allies during World War II, who are entitled to a pension increase on the aforementioned grounds in accordance with the legislation
    • to persons with disabilities from childhood due to injury, concussion, mutilation related to combat operations during the Great Patriotic War or to the consequences of military operations.

If eligible for financial assistance on multiple grounds, assistance will be provided on the ground providing for the largest payment.

Financial assistance payments are made at the place of pension receipt.
