The Vitebsk Regional Property Committee, in conjunction with district executive committees, has compiled a list of unused real estate properties that can be transferred to investors on a gratuitous basis for the implementation of investment projects, or put up for auction at a base rate.
This list includes 138 real estate properties. The largest number of properties are offered in Gluboksky and Ushachsky districts. For the most part, these are unused social sphere facilities – former kindergartens and schools. However, they too eventually find new owners.
For example, as a positive case, in July last year, the Beshenkovichi Gymnasium-Boarding School, with an area of almost 5000 sq.m., was transferred to a foreign investor from China for the implementation of an investment project.
Currently, confectionery production has already been established at the site of the former gymnasium, creating 25 jobs. This year, expansion of production and the creation of additional jobs are planned.
The committee has also compiled a list of 109 production sites to offer to investors for the creation of new and expansion of existing production facilities.
The largest unused production site offered is the former brick factory site, located in the Rossony district near the village of Albrechtovo.
The production complex includes 24 buildings and structures with an area of 25815 sq.m. Natural gas and water supply are connected to the factory site, and there is an electricity supply.
