The product range includes 18 half-pairs for two common types of bindings, differing in appearance and technical implementation. The first samples were manufactured in the experimental workshop of a structural subdivision of the holding: at the recently modernized enterprise "Verdimar" (Beloozersk, Brest Region).
In the coming days, the samples will be sent to the Ministry of Sport and Tourism for expert evaluation. Models to be put into mass production will also be determined. For now, Honoured Coach of BSSR in cross-country skiing Alexander Solonenko shared his opinion on the first domestically produced ski boots with journalists and the company's head. "These are good boots for classic style. They will be excellent for amateurs, young and junior athletes. I am sure they will be in demand among students of Olympic reserve schools and children's and youth sports schools," he emphasised. Constructive remarks concerned the stiffness of the sole, heel counter, and some other elements crucial for athletes. Nikolai Martynov promised to consider and refine them not only when preparing models for serial launch but also in the mass production of sports footwear. "This will not require additional costs, it will only improve the quality of our footwear," stressed the head of the holding.
"This is our first step. The beginning has been made. By next year, we will consider all nuances and try to move to the next level – to produce ski boots for professional athletes. For this, we need to study this topic more deeply," noted the General Director.
Nikolai Martynov added that serial production is planned to start in autumn, with the aim of producing about 40,000 pairs of footwear by November to meet the needs of general education schools and sports institutions. Further volumes will be determined based on demand. The projected cost per pair will be approximately Br35-65, depending on the upper material.
