In 2013-2015, a set of measures will be implemented in Lepel to bring the street and road network in the city centre, along three "road loops", and public transport stops on bus route No. 5 into compliance with barrier-free environment standards. This includes ensuring ramps on pavements and relocating power line poles from pavements.
Currently, 161 facilities are already equipped with barrier-free environment elements, such as ramps and special buttons. In entrances where visually impaired individuals reside, the first and last steps on stair landings have been painted in bright colours.
