The Republican competition of literary works "Message to the Teacher" is being held in Belarus, the press service of the Ministry of Education informed BELTA.
Participants in the competition can be students of general secondary, vocational, secondary specialized, higher education institutions, and additional education for children and youth in four age groups: 6-9, 10-13, 14-18, and 18-25 years old.
Participants must send their works to the National Centre for Arts and Crafts for Children and Youth of the Ministry of Education by September 20. After that, an expert group will evaluate them until September 29. The material should represent a message or dedication to teachers, revealing the significance of the teacher in the author's life. Works can be in the form of a short story, poem, verse, or essay in Russian or Belarusian. Materials can be accompanied by various genres of media art.
The criteria to be evaluated include compliance with the theme, social significance and content of the works, creative approach, originality and creativity in the execution of materials in media art genres, style of presentation, informativeness, and spelling accuracy. The jury will determine the winner (1st place) and prize-winners (2nd, 3rd place) in each age group. Additional nominations may be established. Winners will be invited to a celebratory meeting dedicated to Teacher's Day, which will take place on September 30.
The organizers of the creative competition are the Ministry of Education and the National Centre for Arts and Crafts for Children and Youth. The competition is held to popularise and enhance the prestige of the teaching profession, create a positive image of the teacher in society, form a new perspective on the teaching profession among children and youth, and raise the status of educators, among other objectives.
