In recent years, much has been done to improve, tidy up, and maintain order in the city. Many owners strive to make their homes distinctive, unlike others. At least, they make efforts to ensure that living in them is convenient and comfortable.
We drove around several streets in different districts and took photos of more than ten houses. We saw both traditional and original structures, colourful flowerbeds, and classic, neatly mown lawns. And everywhere, the diligent hands of caring owners were evident.
Among the houses inhabited by pensioners, the most beautiful building belongs to Kateryna Kostiukovich (Chyrvonarmiiska Street, 14). The woman herself survived the hardships of the war years and passed through Nazi concentration camps. She raised three sons. Now she lives alone, but her children and grandchildren do not forget her. Her house stands on the shore of Lake Lepel. To prevent soil erosion, four terraces were built from stone, which now accommodate a neat garden and a greenhouse. The woman grows tomatoes, cucumbers, cherries, and flowers.
The old building has been capitalised and thoroughly repaired; it is now difficult to recognise the wooden structure, where the wind used to blow through the walls, in this beauty. The house has all modern conveniences. Kateryna Vasylievna says that now she has only to live and live.
The house of Aliaksandr and Volha Kheilik stands in Yasenin Lane, 41. Not long ago, their family became a large one; 13-year-old Dasha and 10-year-old Nastia were joined by their younger brother Sasha.
The family has a tall, spacious house where there is enough room for everyone, and friends can be invited over. Cleanliness and order are maintained in the yard and in front of the property. The grass is neatly mown, and boards and other necessary materials are tidily stored in their places. And at the entrance, angels on the gateposts greet guests.
Everything was done by the diligent hands of Aliaksandr. He shared how he installed the glass entrance door. He bought it in Vitebsk – it turned out to be cheaper – and installed and adjusted it himself.
A house with a Bavarian design on II Savetskaya Street. When you see it, you involuntarily catch yourself thinking that you are somewhere in southern Germany, and a burgher should soon emerge from the door to invite you to taste fresh beer.
The owner and creator of this beauty, Vitaliy Artamonov, works at the enterprise "Lepelbudinvestservice". His hands possess all the tools with equally high skill: a trowel, a hammer, a saw, and an axe. Vitaliy conceived and implemented such an original project with his own hands.
The described houses have been recognized as the most beautiful and well-maintained in Lepel this year. We hope that by looking at them, other residents of Lepel will be inspired with new ideas, show diligence and skill, and next year the choice in the competition will be even more diverse.
