18 March, Vitebsk /BELTA/. The Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Vitebsk has started accepting documents for Schengen visas of the Republic of Poland from March 18, BELTA was informed by the consulate.

Starting from March 18, 2013, the Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Vitebsk represents the Republic of Poland in issuing short-term Schengen visas, if Poland is the main destination of the visit.

The Consulate of Latvia in Vitebsk accepts documents for Polish visas in the same manner as for Latvian visas. Documents are accepted daily from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 to 13:00. Those wishing to apply for a Polish visa at the Consulate in Vitebsk do not need to register in advance; documents are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Documents are processed within one week (five working days).

An application for a type "C" Schengen visa of the Republic of Poland is accepted upon presentation of the following documents: a completed electronic Schengen visa application form of the Republic of Latvia, a photograph, an insurance policy, a passport, and documents confirming the purpose of the trip and the availability of sufficient financial means for staying in the Schengen area. Documents are submitted in Russian and English. The Schengen visa application form of the Republic of Latvia is available on the Consulate's website. A state fee of 60 euros must be paid when submitting documents.

The representation of the Republic of Poland in visa matters at the Consulate of Latvia is carried out in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Latvia and the Government of the Republic of Poland on Representation in Visa Issuance, which was concluded on February 13, 2013, in Riga.-0-
