The grand closing ceremony will take place this evening to the sounds of the State Chamber Orchestra of Belarus under the direction of Evgeny Bushkov. The programme of the first part features "Krosny Makoshi" by young Belarusian composer Konstantin Yaskov for folk voice, strings, percussion, and piano. The second part will include music by 19th-20th century composers A. Roussel, A. Piazzolla, F. Kreisler, and P. Sarasate. The concert will feature French violinist François Pinot-Benoît, a descendant of a famous family. The final performance at the forum this year will be an example of the interweaving of deep layers of national folk songs and the achievements of world academic musical culture, the philharmonic added.
The anniversary festival started on December 3. The current forum featured not only classical music and pieces reminiscent of popular music, but also a theatrical and musical performance based on the poems of Russian writer and poet Nikolai Oleynikov, "The Insect Life". The captivating and poignant performance, consisting of 14 stories, immersed the Vitebsk audience in a musical and poetic multimedia space. In addition, the forum offered music lovers the opportunity to listen to works by Russian composers performed by Honoured Artist of Russia, one of the world's most sought-after pianists, Boris Berezovsky. The concert by Gayk Kazanian and Andrey Shibko was unforgettable.
At the creative forum, the "Classic-Avant-garde" ensemble of soloists, which stood at the origins of the festival, presented listeners with a unique programme composed of popular music from the mid-20th century.
